The National Trust team on Brownsea Island are looking forward to welcoming back day visitors when the island re-opens on Saturday 16 March.
Springtime is a great time to look out for red squirrels as they can often be seen foraging for food to feed their young. Families can burn off energy exploring the island’s natural play area. There are also free trails and activities on offer, and an Easter Egg hunt from 23 March to 14 April with a chocolate prize for all. Try on one of 4 giant bird heads and flap your wings or hop around wearing bunny ears and enjoy some fun family games.
Easter trails are just £3 booking is not required.
This year the National Trust are running Family Bushcraft Workshops to coincide with each school holiday on the Friday and Saturday, starting on 5 and 6 April. Kids and their parents can become wild explorers by learning how to survive and thrive in a natural environment, learning wilderness skills such as wood carving, fire lighting, animal tracking, foraging and den building. Booking essential.
